Cancellation & Update

As some of you know we’ve not had a great start to 2022… or 2021 or 2020 for that matter. Now that I think about it most of the 21st century has been a bit shit. Can we go back to the 1990’s? They seemed okay as I recall but that could be haze caused by distance. So in that vain our 3 nights in Athens got cancelled by the travel agent… again. This time because EasyJet cancelled the flight. We were thinking about booking something very last minute for next week but given everything we’ve decided to have a quiet week at home instead.

However looking forward we’ve now booked a weeks cruise around the Canaries at the beginning of March. We went to the TUI travel agent to book this rather than do it online. It’s important to use brick and mortar stores as you get more flexibility, like how we got our cabin upgraded for our last cruise, and it keeps people employed. As we were there we also booked another cruise in October but this time around the Adriatic. This includes our ‘boogey’ destination, Venice. Unbeknownst (good word) to me this cruise also has an excursion to the Lipica Horse Farm where they breed Lipizzaner horses. Lyn is very excited and it’s good to see a smile on her face. Despite it being 8 months away she’s made me book the excursion already using money that was meant to buy new tyres for the car as apparently this is far more important.

Hopefully both of these will go ahead without any hitches. The first one is close enough that there shouldn’t be any man made issues. The Gods however might have a different view given the volcano on La Palma only stopped erupting a month ago. The second one is far enough away that… I don’t know where I was going with that to be honest. It’s far enough away that the Mole Men might attack! That would be about right.

So ‘3 Nights In…” cancelled for now and more cruising booked. There are some new things about both these cruses that we’ll be trying out but more of that closer to the time.
