Storm Isha raged across the UK the night before we left for Gatwick airport. For anyone who’s read my stuff before it’s quite normal to have atrocious weather before we go on holiday so I took it as a good omen.We’d booked a night at Sofitel which is attached to the airport and has valet parking. Day 2:Our first stop was the Cayman Islands, famous for being a rat hole for the rich. We weren't really expecting much from this stop and hadn't booked a tour. This was the first time on a cruise that we got off the ship using a tender. Today we arrived in Cuba! We got off the ship as soon as it docked, about 8ish, but soon discovered that Havana doesn’t really open until 10

Day 10After the disappointment of Port Royal we had yet another sea day before we hit Central America. Cruise companies do like sea days because you are trapped and might have to spend money with them so like dutiful sheeple we complied. There's a Pandora shop on board and in the past we have got 'destination charms' from there and like passport stamps they had been nonexistent so far. Day 12.Today we were in Panama which in a surprise move is actually a country not just a canal or a hat. It was also the day I got my birthday present which was a ride along the Panama Canal Railway in a glass domed carriage. The next best thing to doing a transit in a ship. Day 13: Costa RicaToday we were in Costa Rica to see the 'hanimals!' as Lyn says. We'd booked a tour for this to an animal rescue centre to give Lyn the best opportunity to actually see something. Costa Rica has no zoo's and all hunting is banned.
